P800 forms – week 53 payments in tax year 2023-24
If you have employees that were paid weekly on a Friday then they may have received a ‘Week 53’ payment in 2023-24, which is quite normal. Because of the way that HMRC calculate tax for ‘week 53’ payments, then this may mean that an employee will pay more tax in 2024-25. Such employees may receive a form ‘P800’ from HMRC to explain this.
